Do you have 512 broadband?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and nothing highlights the environmental impacts of the proposed Pacific Highway upgrade more than Adrian DeVille's short film documentary, “Flyover of the proposed Wells Crossing to Iluka Road Pacific Highway upgrade”.

Using Google Earth Adrian allows the viewer to fly the entire 20 kilometre section of preferred route from Glenugie to Tyndale, and see first hand the destruction and habitat fragmentation the 100 metre wide clearing will have on forests, wetlands and rural dwellers in its path.

After completing the journey, the flight cleverly back-tracks to the start where it follows the alternative alignment along what is known as the orange option, a route that generally follows the existing highway. One cannot but notice the relatively low environmental impact of that option; so if you are lucky enough to have 512 broadband, click here, sit back and enjoy the flight.
